Danish composer Kenneth Dahl Knudsen gatherd international jazz orchestra in this vibrant debut album. A desire to share his compositions led Kenneth Dahl Knudsen to get back to his roots and create a jazz-inspired disc.
Double bass player Kenneth Dahl Knudsen has, together with the Kenneth Dahl Knudsen Orchestra, released his debut album “We’ll meet in the rain” in May 2016. The album is compiled entirely of his own compositions and weaves between contemporary jazz and cinematic orchestral music.
Each piece speaks about Dahl Knudsen’s encounters with people, their stories and anecdotes. Composed as a sensitive and introspective piece, his sound develops the intensity of emotions behind each track. With eclectic influences and inspiration from his home land, he invites you on a thoughtful jazz journey.
Dahl Knudsen has already performed and recorded with artists such as John Scofield, Dick Oatts, Joel Frahm, Gilad Hekselman and Aaron Parks. His international orchestra big band is made up of 19 soloists from all across Europe, sharing experiences adding diversity to the project.
The album has been released by Two Rivers Records, a new label founded by Alya Marquardt, that was conceived as a platform for daring interpretations and unconventional music.
